GOVERNMENT OF THE PUNJAB AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT Applications are invited from eligible candidates domiciled in Punjab for recruitment on a contract basis under the Punjab Resilient and Inclusive Agriculture Transformation (PRIAT) Project (2022-23 to 2026-27) (World Bank Financed) under the Directorate General Agriculture (Water Management), Punjab.


1. Project Director

  • PPS: 12
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Salary: Rs. 600,000 per month (with annual increment)
  • Age Limit: Maximum 60 Years
  • Qualification & Experience:
    • 18 years of education in Agriculture Engineering/Water Resource Engineering/Water Resource Management from an HEC-recognized university.
    • 5 years of experience as Project Director/Project Manager in development projects related to on-farm water management or related fields.
    • Proven experience of at least 20 years in projects related to on-farm water management, water resource management, agricultural engineering, or irrigation & drainage, with leadership quality to manage foreign-funded mega projects.

2. Deputy Project Director (HEIS & Solar)

  • PPS: 11
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Salary: Rs. 450,000 per month (with annual increment)
  • Age Limit: Maximum 60 Years
  • Qualification & Experience:
    • Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering/Water Engineering & Management/Irrigation Engineering or equivalent with a minimum 2nd division.
    • 15 years of post-qualification relevant experience in ADP/donor-funded projects.
    • Expertise in implementing agriculture development and water sector projects, especially in high-efficiency irrigation systems.
    • Familiar with project development & implementation policies and guidelines of donor/World Bank and government.
    • Experience in preparing annual plans, operational documents, business plans, and attending high-level project meetings.
    • Ability to work closely with farmers for community watercourse improvement and OFWM works.
    • Experience in working in donor-funded projects preferred.

3. Audit & Taxation Specialist

  • PPS: 9
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Salary: Rs. 250,000 per month (with annual increment)
  • Age Limit: Maximum 45 Years
  • Qualification & Experience:
    • Master’s degree in Accounting & Finance/Audit & Taxation/ACCA/ACMA or equivalent from an HEC-recognized university with a minimum 2nd division.
    • At least 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience, preferably in the public sector or a reputed chartered accountant firm.
    • Familiar with audit management in the government sector, internal and external audits, tax management, and contract management.
    • Ability to handle audit and taxation issues as per government and donor/World Bank guidelines.
    • Knowledge of tax policies and experience working with the private sector/supplier firms/community contracting.
    • Ability to monitor and analyze audit and tax issues of the project and recommend remedial solutions.

4. Horticulture Expert

  • PPS: 9
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Salary: Rs. 250,000 per month (with annual increment)
  • Age Limit: Maximum 45 Years
  • Qualification & Experience:
    • Master’s degree in Horticulture/Agri Marketing/Agri Business Development/Agriculture Value Chain/Agriculture/Agronomy/Agricultural Engineering with a minimum 2nd division.
    • 8 years of post-qualification relevant experience in horticulture, agriculture marketing, Agri business development, agriculture value chain, and regenerative agriculture.
    • Expertise in horticulture, high-value agriculture, value addition, and regenerative agriculture-related projects.
    • Experience in preparing operational documents, business plans, and feasibility studies.
    • Familiar with project development & implementation policies and guidelines of donor/World Bank and government.
    • Ability to work with farmers regarding horticulture and agriculture value chain.
    • Experience in working in donor-funded projects preferred.

5. Agricultural Communication Specialist

  • PPS: 9
  • No. of Posts: 01
  • Salary: Rs. 250,000 per month (with annual increment)
  • Age Limit: Maximum 45 Years
  • Qualification & Experience:
    • Master’s degree in Mass Communication/Journalism/Media Studies from an HEC-recognized university with a minimum 2nd division.
    • At least 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience.
    • Ability to design and develop a high-quality project communication strategy including print, electronic, and social media.
    • Experience in implementing communication strategies in development projects.
    • Ability to prepare and present reports, evaluate results, and recommend changes.
    • Experience in analyzing agricultural information, data, and trends to support effective communication delivery.
    • Ability to draft various communication outputs in English and Urdu related to agriculture/water management.
    • Ability to manage/run social media platforms and develop close collaboration with media and relevant authorities.

6. Female Trainer

  • PPS: 9
  • No. of Posts: 02
  • Salary: Rs. 250,000 per month (with annual increment)
  • Age Limit: Maximum 45 Years
  • Qualification & Experience:
    • Master’s degree in Gender Studies/Social Work/Public Policy/Development Studies or related discipline from an HEC-recognized university with a minimum 2nd division.
    • 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience.
    • Female candidates will be given preference.
    • Conversant with Government/World Bank/donor gender policies and guidelines.
    • Experience in conducting gender training needs assessments and implementing gender training action plans.
    • Ability to conduct community consultations with women and vulnerable groups and provide technical guidance on gender-related actions.
    • Experience in organizing focus group discussions and consultations.

7. Assistant Director (Technical)

  • PPS: 8
  • No. of Posts: 02
  • Salary: Rs. 175,000 per month (with annual increment)
  • Age Limit: Maximum 40 Years
  • Qualification & Experience:
    • Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering/Water Engineering & Management/Irrigation Engineering or equivalent with a minimum 2nd division.
    • 5 years of post-qualification relevant experience in ADP/donor-funded projects.
    • Expertise in implementing agriculture development and water sector projects.
    • Familiar with project development & implementation policies and guidelines of donor/World Bank and government.

Additional Information:

  1. Age Relaxation: Not admissible.
  2. Equivalence Certificates: Must be provided by the candidate if applicable.
  3. Eligibility: Retired government servants are not eligible. Contract appointments are temporary, non-transferable, non-pensionable, and do not confer rights for regularization.
  4. Contract Duration: Initially 1 year, extendable up to the project period with competent authority approval.
