Invitation for Applications: Independent Members for Provincial Public Safety and Police Complaints Commission

Under the Sindh (Repeal of the Police Act, 1861 and Revival of Police Order, 2002) (Amendment) Act 2019

  1. In accordance with the Sindh (Repeal of the Police Act, 1861 and Revival of Police Order, 2002) (Amendment) Act, 2019, the Government of Sindh is establishing the Provincial Public Safety and Police Complaints Commission. As stipulated in Section 74(2) of the Act, half of the Commission’s members will be ‘Independent Members.’
  2. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the position of Independent Members of the Provincial Public Safety and Police Complaints Commission. Candidates must meet the following criteria:
    • Integrity: Demonstrate impeccable integrity.
    • Professional Competence: Proven expertise in fields such as social work, law, administration, education, corporate sector, or other relevant professional areas.
    • Residency: Must be a resident of Sindh Province.
  3. Applicants are encouraged to review Section 79 of the Act for information on disqualifications before applying. The Act can be accessed at www.home.sindh.gov.pk.
  4. Interested candidates should submit their detailed CVs along with a cover letter addressed to the Chairperson of the Selection Panel. The cover letter should outline the candidate’s vision for contributing to the Commission’s functions as per the Act.
