LAHORE – Starting from July 1, 2024, electricity bills will increase for the general public due to the addition of fixed charges, as reported by local media. The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved these fixed charges to boost the revenue of electricity distribution companies. The fixed charges will not apply to consumers using up to 200 units per month. However, those consuming 301-400 units will be charged Rs200 as fixed charges. Consumers using 401-500 units per month will pay Rs400, while those in the 501-600 unit range will incur Rs600 in fixed charges.
For consumers using 601-700 units per month, the fixed charges will be Rs800. Those consuming over 700 units will face a fixed charge of Rs1,000. These charges will be reflected in the electricity bills for the month of July. New Fixed Charges in Electricity Bills Effective July 2024
