Eligibility Conditions:
- Citizenship: Unmarried male citizens of Pakistan.
- Age Limit:
- Not more than 20 years as of December 31, 2024.
- FATA/Gilgit-Baltistan/AJK/Balochistan: Not more than 21 years as of December 31, 2024 (One year age relaxation).
Academic Qualification:
- Requirements:
- F.Sc Pre-Engineering or A-Level with subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with at least 55% marks.
- Candidates with O/A Levels must submit an Equivalence Certificate along with the application.
- F.Sc/A-Level Part-II appearing candidates with at least 60% marks in Part-I can also apply but must provide a Hope Certificate from their respective college/institute.
- Failure to achieve 55% marks in F.Sc after providing a Hope Certificate will result in disqualification at any stage of the selection process or during training.
How to Register:
- Prospectus and Application Form: Can be downloaded from the PMA website www.marineacademy.edu.pk or obtained from the PMA Admission Office.
- Submission: Submit the completed application form through courier along with a pay order/bank draft of Rs. 3,500/- in favor of Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), PMA Branch Code-0239 (PO/DD from any bank is accepted).
- Self Finance Scheme (SFS): Candidates applying under the Self Finance Scheme must also submit an additional pay order/bank draft of Rs. 300,000/- along with the application form. The SFS fee will be refunded if the candidate is selected on open merit or does not meet PMA eligibility criteria.
Selection Procedure:
- Entrance Test: Conducted at various locations including Abbottabad, Gwadar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad (AJK), Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Sukkur.
- Minimum 50% marks required to qualify.
- Medical Examination: For shortlisted candidates at designated Army/Navy Hospitals.
- Final Selection: Based on merit including F.Sc marks, entrance test marks, medical, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and final interview.
- PET and interviews will be conducted after the medical examination.
- Final interview and PET dates will be updated on the PMA website and communicated to candidates via SMS.
PET Standards:
- Running: 1 mile (1.6 km) in 8 minutes.
- Push-ups: 15 repetitions.
- Sit-ups: 15 repetitions.
- Chin-ups: 2 repetitions.
Education/Training & Degree/Certificates Awarded:
- Training: 2 years residential training at PMA.
- Degrees/Certificates:
- Associate Degree in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering awarded by NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.
- Certificates of International Maritime Organization (IMO) recognized Pre-Sea Mandatory Courses.
Scholarships:
- Need-based Scholarships: 33 scholarships sponsored by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.

- Distribution:
Ineligibility:
- Submission of tampered or false academic certificates/documents.
- Concealment of information or incomplete application.
- Withdrawal from any academy/training institution on disciplinary grounds or poor academic performance.
- Dismissal from government service or armed forces.
- Conviction by a court of law for offenses involving moral turpitude.
- Candidates declared medically unfit by an Armed Forces hospital or color blind.
- Diploma holders (DAE) and non-combination of subjects are ineligible.
