Career Opportunity at Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO)
Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO), one of the largest rural support organizations in Sindh registered under section 42 of the Companies Act 2017, is inviting applications from energetic, well-qualified, and experienced individuals for the following position:
Position: Veterinary Officer
Location: District Office, Khairpur Mir’s & Jacobabad (duty station may vary)
Who Can Apply
SRSO is looking for candidates who are:
- Energetic and motivated
- Well-qualified with relevant academic credentials
- Experienced in the field of veterinary science, particularly with large animals and community development
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university with a minimum CGPA of 3.0
- Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience in large animal care, development, and social mobilization
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with local service providers, government veterinarians, and paraveterinarians
- Specialized Expertise: Strong knowledge and experience in handling equine animals and providing veterinary care
- Community Development: Experience with a 3-tier community development model
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications and strong communication skills
- Relationship Building: Ability to establish and maintain relationships with government officials and relevant organizations
Core Responsibilities
- Risk Management: Assist in implementing risk management processes and help develop relevant policies and procedures
- Team Management: Oversee the Community Mobile Veterinary Clinic (CMVC) team, including support staff such as farriers and drivers
- Veterinary Services: Provide veterinary services to working equines in accordance with Brooke standards
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate treatment records and reports
- Education: Educate animal owners on disease prevention and good animal husbandry practices
- Referrals: Refer serious veterinary cases to qualified professionals as needed
- Awareness Sessions: Conduct community awareness sessions on equine health and management
- Medicine Management: Manage the supply and distribution of veterinary medicines
- Project Implementation: Plan and implement various community projects
- Fundraising and Communication: Contribute to the organization’s fundraising and communication efforts
- Planning and Budgeting: Prepare annual work plans and budgets
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures and safeguarding policies
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
