The Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) invites applications from Pakistani nationals for contract-based positions in the PSDP project titled “Gene Editing of Biological Agents for Nutritional, Biochemical, and Therapeutic Purposes” at PCSIR Labs Complex, Ferozepur Road, Lahore. Positions are offered on a lump-sum pay basis for one year, extendable based on performance until project completion for Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) Jobs 2024.
Available Positions:
1. Research Officers (PPS-7)
- Qualification: Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, Metabolic Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or related fields. Relevant research experience is preferred.
- Responsibilities: Conduct research and development, manage project-related activities. Experience with CRISPR/Cas systems and automated fermenters is preferred.
- Number of Posts: 01
2. Research Associate (PPS-6)
- Qualification: MS in Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, Metabolic Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related fields. Relevant research experience is preferred.
- Responsibilities: Perform assigned tasks and maintain project-related activities. Experience with CRISPR/Cas systems and automated fermenters is preferred.

3. Admin Officer (PPS-7)
- Qualification: M.Sc./MA (Economics) with at least 16 years of education. Minimum 5 years of experience in office administration, accounts, or human resource management in the public sector, preferably with PSDP projects.
- Responsibilities: Handle accounts, administration, and other project-related matters.

4. Lab Technicians (PPS-5)
- Qualification: B.Sc. or equivalent (14 years of education) with 2-3 years of experience in R&D organizations or the public sector.
- Responsibilities: Perform tasks related to lab/pilot plants and other project matters.

5. Office Assistants (PPS-5)
- Qualification: B.A/B.Com or equivalent (14 years of education) with 2-3 years of experience in R&D organizations or the public sector, preferably in PSDP projects.
- Responsibilities: Assist with office tasks and project matters.
