Eligibility Conditions:

  • Citizenship: Unmarried male citizens of Pakistan.
  • Age Limit:
    • Not more than 20 years as of December 31, 2024.
    • For candidates from FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK, and Balochistan, the age limit is 21 years as of December 31, 2024 (One Year Age Relaxation).

Academic Qualification:

  • Required: F.Sc Pre-Engineering or A-Level with subjects in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with at least 55% marks.
  • For O/A Level Candidates: Must submit an Equivalence Certificate with the application. Candidates appearing in F.Sc/A-Level Part-II with at least 60% marks in Part-I may apply with a Hope Certificate from their respective college/institute. Failure to achieve 55% marks in F.Sc after providing a Hope Certificate will result in disqualification at any stage of the selection process or discharge during training.

How to Register:

  • Application Form & Prospectus: Download from the PMA website www.marineacademy.edu.pk or obtain from the PMA Admission Office.
  • Submission: Send the completed application form through Courier Services with a pay order/bank draft of Rs. 3,500/- in favor of Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), PMA Branch Code-0239.
  • Self Finance Scheme (SFS): An additional pay order/bank draft of Rs. 300,000/- is required. SFS fee will be refunded if the candidate is selected on open merit or does not meet PMA eligibility criteria.

Selection Procedure:

  • Entrance Test: Conducted at various locations including Abbottabad, Gwadar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad (AJK), Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Sukkur. A minimum of 50% marks is required to qualify.
  • Medical Examination: Conducted at designated Army/Navy hospitals for shortlisted candidates.
  • Final Selection: Based on merit, including F.Sc marks, entrance test marks, medical examination, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and final interview. PET and interview dates will be updated on the PMA website and communicated via SMS.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Standards:

  • Running: One Mile (1.6 km) in 08 Minutes
  • Sit-ups: 15 Repetitions in 02 Minutes
  • Chin-ups: 02 Repetitions in 02 Minutes
  • Push-ups: 15 Repetitions in 02 Minutes

Education/Training & Degree/Certificates Awarded:

  • Training Duration: 2 years of residential training at PMA.
  • Degrees and Certificates:
    • Associate Degree in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering from NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.
    • Certificates of International Maritime Organization (IMO) recognized Pre-Sea Mandatory Courses.

Scholarships:

  • Total: 33 need-based scholarships sponsored by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.
  • Distribution:
    • Balochistan: 15 Scholarships
    • KPK: 06 Scholarships
    • Punjab: 06 Scholarships
    • Sindh: 06 Scholarships

Ineligibility:

  • Submission of tampered or false documents.
  • Concealment or falsification of information in the application form.
  • Previous disciplinary issues or poor academic performance in any academy/training institution, including Armed Forces.
  • Conviction for offenses involving moral turpitude or any other offense.
  • Non-combination of subjects or diploma holders (DAE).
  • Medical disqualification or color blindness.
